On Sunday, August 2, 2026, thousands of devotees visited Shri Girijatmaj Ganpati at the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage site of Shri Kshetra Lenyadri (Taluka Junnar) on the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi. The combination of the religious occasion, the Sunday public holiday, and the scenic waterfalls and lush greenery brought on by the monsoon attracted a large number of devotees and tourists. The entire Lenyadri temple \u092a\u0930\u093f\u0938\u0930 took on the atmosphere of a grand pilgrimage fair.<\/p>\n
To mark the occasion, the idol of Lord Girijatmaj and the temple were beautifully decorated with flowers.<\/p>\n
At 6:15 a.m., the temple’s Chairman, Adv. Sanjay Dhekane, and Trustee Sadashiv Tamhane performed the ceremonial Abhishek and Mahapuja. Thereafter, devotees began offering their prayers and taking darshan.<\/p>\n
Special floral decorations adorned both the idol and the temple premises for Sankashti Chaturthi. Sagar Suresh Doke of Pimpalgaon Siddhanath donated two carats (bundles) of bananas as an offering (Naivedya) to the deity.<\/p>\n
The temple conducted Maha Aarti at 7:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 7:00 p.m. Throughout the day, various religious rituals and ceremonies were organized by the temple trust. The trust also provided several facilities and amenities to ensure the convenience of devotees.<\/p>\n
Due to the large turnout, the temple trust made special arrangements for crowd management to facilitate smooth darshan. Present on the occasion were Chairman Adv. Sanjay Dhekane, Vice-Chairman Govind Meher, Secretary Shankar Tamhane, Treasurer Bhagwan Hande, Trustees Machhindra Shete, Sadashiv Tamhane, Kashinath Lokhande, Jaywant Doke, Jitendra Bidwai, Office Secretary Rohidas Bidwai, Manager Nilesh Sarjine, temple staff, local villagers, and a large number of devotees.<\/p>\n
In the evening, Shri Muktai Prasadic Bhajani Mandal from Shivechiwadi presented a devotional musical bhajan program. At moonrise, a special Maha Aarti was performed.<\/p>\n
Following the Maha Aarti, a Mahaprasad (community meal) was organized for devotees by Shakuntala Namdev Kokane and Jayshree Rajendra Shinde from Golegaon, along with Archana Prahlad Mankar from Mankarwadi.<\/p>\n
Throughout the day, several dignitaries from various fields also visited the temple to seek the blessings of Lord Girijatmaj. Devotees arrived in large numbers from Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, and the Junnar region.<\/p>\n
