Ganesh Jayanti celebration was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Shri Kshetra Lenyadri. Among the Ashtavinayak Ganapati temples, at Shri Kshetra Lenyadri (Tal. Junnar) situated in the heart of Sahyadri in Junnar taluka. On 15th February 2021, Maghi Ganesh Jayanti celebration was held in a simple and traditional manner. The idol of Shri Girijatmaja and the temple were decorated with attractive flowers. Every year on the occasion of Ganesh Jayanti, a grand procession is held at Lenyadri. However, due to the crisis of Corona disease, Ganesh devotees expressed their displeasure as the bullock cart race and Yatra, which is the attraction of this year’s Yatra, was not completed. Throughout the day, devotees followed the rules laid down by the government and took advantage of the darshan of Shri Girijatmaj Ganesha.
Every year on the occasion of Ganesh Jayanti, the Akhand Harinam Saptah held on behalf of the Devasthan was concluded in a simple manner. At 5.00 am, Abhishek, Mahapuja and Aarti were performed by Devasthan Trust President Kailas Lokhande and Vice President Sanjay Dhekne. After that, devotees took advantage of the darshan of Shri Girijatmaj Ganesha. Ganesha’s birth was celebrated in a traditional manner by chanting in the temple at 12:00 noon. Devasthan President Kailas Lokhande, Vice President Sanjay Dhekne, Secretary Jitendra Bidwai, Treasurer Kashinath Lokhande, Trustee Shankar Tamhane, Prabhakar Jadhav, Govind Meher, Machhindrasheth Shete, Suresh Wani, Prabhakar Gadde, Sadashiv Tamhane, Vijay Varhadi, Nandkumar Bidwai, Jaywant Pots and staff as well as devotees were present. Mahaprasada was organized on behalf of Devasthan. The idol of Shri Girijatmaja and the temple were decorated with attractive flowers. Various rituals were performed throughout the day. Rs.10,000 / – on behalf of Devasthan and Rs.10,000 / – on behalf of Lenyadri Gram Vikas Mandal Mumbai, Golegaon. 10,000 / – was given as incentive. The crowd was planned by the temple for easy access to the devotees. A sanitizer stand was erected on the Darshan Marg on behalf of the temple. During the day, dignitaries from various fields took advantage of Shri’s darshan and a large number of devotees from Junnar area and from Pune, Nagar, Mumbai, Thane and Nashik came to pay their darshan.
