A grand free community marriage ceremony was held in Sri Kshetra Lenyadri on Sunday 12th May with great fanfare. Community marriage ceremonies have been taking place through Shree Lenyadri Ganapati Devasthan Trust for the past several years. This year, on behalf of the Devasthan, the board of trustees decided to conduct a free community marriage ceremony for the marriage of boys and girls from poor and economically weak families in the society, and accordingly, a grand free community marriage ceremony was organized on behalf of the Devasthan Trust this year. The marriage ceremony took place on Sunday 12th May at Sri Kshetra Lenyadri. A total of 08 couples got married in this. The entire expenses of the said marriage were borne by the Devasthan Trust. All the employers gave a good response to the fact that the undesirable practices of offering manpan, DJ playing, and dowry were stopped in this marriage ceremony. At 10.30 am, the program started with Ganesh Pooja under the auspices of dignitaries such as Govind Meher, Trustees Jaywant Doke, Gopal Vani, Arun Tamhane and Tushar Shinde. After that, the program of breaking betel nuts, sugar powder and tila was completed. Then from 11:30 am to 03:00 am, the bridegroom was arranged for the Sneh Bhojan. At 4.00 pm in the auspicious atmosphere and in the auspicious tune of Mangal Ashtaka, the marriage of 08 couples was completed. At this time, the bride and groom took an oath that they will not commit feticide and will not allow anyone to do it. Necessary facilities were provided on behalf of the temple.
