On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, thousands of devotees visited the Shri Girijatmaj Ganpati temple at the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage site Lenyadri in Junnar taluka. Throughout the day, there was a large gathering of devotees. The pilgrimage included visits to various locations within the Lenyadri temple complex. Accordingly, the idol of Shri Girijatmaj and the temple were adorned beautifully with flowers.

At the Shri Lenyadri Ganpati temple, the day began at 5:30 AM with the auspicious bath (abhishek) and grand puja conducted by trusted priests Kailas Lokhande, Sadashiv Tamhane, and Jayvant Doke. Following this, devotees received the blessings of Lord Ganesh. The temple was decorated elaborately with flowers for the occasion of Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi. For the deity’s offerings, Golegaon’s Sanket Gopalkar donated 1 carat of gold, and Suresh Verma from Delhi contributed 51 kilograms of laddoos as prasad.

Special Mahaaartis were performed at 6 AM, 12 PM, and 6 PM in the temple premises. Throughout the day of Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi, various religious rituals were conducted at the temple. The temple trust provided various facilities to the devotees and tourists to ensure smooth and convenient darshan. The Chairman of the temple, Sanjay Dhekane, along with other trustees and temple staff, ensured the arrangements were in place.

In the evening, the Muktaai Prasadik Bhajani Mandal and the music bhajans by Shivechivadi added to the spiritual atmosphere. The day concluded with a grand aarti at moonrise. Sanjay Chhagan Vani organized the distribution of Mahaprasad for the devotees. Additionally, the Vice-Chairman of the temple, Govind Yashwant Meher, donated five thousand rupees for annadan.

Throughout the day, devotees from various regions, including Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, and Nashik, gathered in large numbers to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesh. This information was provided by Sanjay Dhekane, the Chairman of the temple, and Secretary Shankar Tamhane.
