Sanctioned funds for development works under ‘B’ Class Pilgrimage Scheme to Shri Kshetra Lenyadri Ganapati Devasthanam.
Sri Kshetra Lenyadri Devasthanam, situated in the cave of Sahyadri mountain range, among Ashtavinayak Ganpati shrines, has been allocated one crore ninety nine lakh forty eight thousand rupees for the development work under the Rural Shrine Development Scheme through the Village Development Department of the Government of Maharashtra. As such, on Friday On September 4, 2024, the government has decided that according to this, devotees’ accommodation, women’s and men’s toilets will be constructed in the premises of the temple, the president of the temple Sanjay Dhekane and secretary Shankar Tamhane informed.
Keeping in mind the number of devotees and tourists coming to Sri Kshetra Lenyadri and the importance of the shrine, the shrine has been declared ‘B’ class status of a shrine under the Rural Pilgrimage Development Scheme by the state government in 2018. The State Government Rural Development Department provides funds for the development works to the ‘B’ class temples. This helps a lot in the overall development of the temple and in promoting various development works. The temple has provided various basic facilities for the devotees and tourists coming to Sri Kshetra Lenyadri. Also, social welfare activities are carried out on behalf of the temple. But keeping in mind the increasing number of devotees and tourists, Devasthan Trust prepared a proposal file for providing funds for development work. On 30 March 2024, it was filed with the State Government’s Rural Development Department through the Chief Executive Officer, Pune Zilla Parishad. By approving it, According to the government decision dated September 04, 2024, a fund of one crore ninety nine lakh forty eight thousand rupees has been provided for the construction of devotee accommodation, women’s and men’s toilets in the premises of Sri Kshetra Lenyadri Devasthan. These facilities will surely be of good use to the devotees and tourists coming here.
