On the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi, a large crowd of devotees gathered to visit the Girijatmaja Ganapati at Shri Kshetra Lenyadri on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Throughout the day, a significant number of devotees visited the temple, transforming the area into a pilgrimage site. To commemorate the event, the idol of Shri Girijatmaja and the temple were beautifully decorated with flowers.
At 5:30 AM, the temple’s president, Sanjay Dhekane, along with trustees Sadashiv Tamhane and Jaywant Doke, performed the abhishekam and Mahapuja for the deity. After that, devotees were able to take darshan. Special floral decorations were made for the idol of Ganesh and the temple premises in honor of Sankashti Chaturthi. For the offerings, the Saraswati Ashtavinayak Group from Daund provided 25 kilograms of apples. The temple conducted Mahaaratis at 6 AM, 12 PM, and 6 PM. Various religious rituals were performed throughout the day by the temple authorities. The trust also provided several facilities and conveniences for the devotees. There was a significant turnout of both devotees and tourists throughout the day, and the temple had arranged crowd management for easier access to darshan.
Many dignitaries from various fields visited the temple during the day to seek blessings. Among the attendees were temple president Sanjay Dhekane, vice president Govind Meher, secretary Shankar Tamhane, treasurer Bhagwan Hande, and other trustees and local villagers. In the evening, the Muktaai Prasadi Bhajani Mandal from Shivechiwadi performed devotional songs. At night, during the moonrise, a grand aarti was held for the deity. After that, Sagar and Nandakumar Suresh Doke from Pimpalgaon Siddhnath organized a large community meal for the devotees. The temple authorities reported that many pilgrims had come from surrounding areas, including Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, and Nashik, to seek darshan.
