On the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi, devotees flocked to Shri Kshetra Lenyadri to have darshan of Lord Girijatmaja.

On Sunday, January 16, 2025, thousands of devotees visited Shri Kshetra Lenyadri (Tal. Junnar) to have darshan of the Girijatmaja Ganapati on the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi. Due to the Sunday holiday, there was a large gathering of devotees throughout the day. The area around Shri Kshetra Lenyadri took on the form of a pilgrimage site. On this occasion, the idol of Shri Girijatmaja and the temple were beautifully decorated with flowers.

In the early morning at 5:30 AM, an abhisheka (ritual bath) and Maha Puja were conducted by the temple president, Advocate Sanjay Dhekane, and trustee Sadashiv Tamhane. After that, the devotees had the opportunity to take darshan. The idol of Shri Girijatmaja Ganapati and the temple premises were decorated with flowers for Sankashti Chaturthi. For the naivedya (offerings), 51 dozen bananas were donated by Balasaheb Bapu Thorat from Manchar. Maha Aarti was performed three times: at 6 AM, 12 PM, and 6 PM. Throughout the day, various religious rituals were conducted by the temple trust. The temple trust provided various facilities to the devotees. Due to the Sunday holiday, there was a large crowd of both devotees and tourists throughout the day. To ensure smooth darshan, crowd management was handled by the temple administration.

The temple’s president, Advocate Sanjay Dhekane, vice president Govind Meher, secretary Shankar Tamhane, treasurer Bhagwan Hande, trustees Prabhakar Jadhav, Machindra Shete, Sadashiv Tamhane, Kashinath Lokhande, Jaywant Doke, Jitendra Bidwai, office secretary Rohidas Bidwai, manager Nilesh Sarjine, employees, and villagers of Golegaon, along with a large number of devotees, were present during the event. In the evening, a musical bhajan performance was held by Shri Muktai Prasadik Bhajani Mandal from Shivechiwadi. A Maha Aarti was performed at the time of Chandrodaya (moonrise). After that, a Mahaprasad (community feast) was organized by Snehal Rahul Prabhakar Dumbre from Othur and Komal Nirmal Arvind Dahad from Germany for the devotees. Throughout the day, dignitaries from various fields also took darshan of Shri Girijatmaja. Devotees from Junnar, Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, and Nashik also visited in large numbers for the darshan of Shri.
