On the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi, a large number of devotees gathered at Shri Kshetra Lenyadri for darshan of Lord Girijatmaj.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, thousands of devotees visited the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage site at Shri Kshetra Lenyadri (Taluka Junnar) to seek blessings of ‘Shri Girijatmaj’ Ganapati on the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi. There was a massive crowd of devotees throughout the day, giving the entire Lenyadri area the vibrant feel of a festive pilgrimage. In celebration, the idol of Shri Girijatmaj and the temple premises were beautifully decorated with flowers.
On behalf of the Shri Lenyadri Ganpati Temple Trust, the early morning rituals began at 6:00 AM with an abhishek (ritualistic bathing of the idol) and a grand puja performed by the temple trust’s president Advocate Sanjay Dhekane and trustee Sadashiv Tamhanhe. Following this, devotees continued to arrive in large numbers for darshan. As part of the festival decor, the idol and the temple were attractively adorned with flowers.
For the deity’s naivedya (sacred offering), Sainath Maruti Doke from Junnar donated 2 carats of grapes. Maha Aarti (grand aarti ceremonies) were conducted at 6:30 AM, 12 noon, and again at 6:30 PM. Throughout the day, various religious rituals were organized by the temple trust. To accommodate the influx of devotees, the trust provided various amenities and services, and proper crowd management arrangements were implemented to ensure smooth darshan.
Present at the occasion were Temple Trust President Adv. Sanjay Dhekane, Vice President Govind Meher, Secretary Shankar Tamhanhe, Treasurer Bhagwan Hande, Trustees Prabhakar Jadhav, Machhindra Shete, Sadashiv Tamhanhe, Kashinath Lokhande, Jaywant Doke, Jitendra Bidwai, Office Secretary Rohidas Bidwai, Manager Nilesh Sarjeene, staff members, villagers from Golegaon, and a large number of devotees.
In the evening, a soulful musical bhajan program was held by Shri Muktai Prasadik Bhajani Mandal from Shivechiwadi. A grand maha-aarti was performed at moonrise. Following this, a Mahaprasad (sacred meal) was organized for all devotees by the Jay Maharashtra Group from Golegaon.
Throughout the day, many prominent individuals from various fields came to seek darshan of Lord Girijatmaj. Devotees from nearby areas like Junnar as well as from cities such as Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, and Nashik came in large numbers to participate in the celebration, as informed by Temple Trust President Adv. Sanjay Dhekane and Secretary Shankar Tamhanhe.
