Devotees Flock to Shri Kshetra Lenyadri for Sankashti Chaturthi Darshan
On Monday, July 14, 2025, on the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi, thousands of devotees visited the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage site Shri Kshetra Lenyadri (Taluka: Junnar) for the darshan (viewing) of Shri Girijatmaj Ganpati. Throughout the day, there was a significant crowd of devotees, giving the area a festive, pilgrimage-like atmosphere. The idol of Shri Girijatmaj and the temple were beautifully decorated with flowers to mark the occasion.
On behalf of the Shri Lenyadri Ganpati Devasthan Trust, a ceremonial abhishek (ritual bathing) and maha puja (grand worship) were performed at 5:30 AM by the Trust President Adv. Sanjay Dhekane and Trustee Sadashiv Tamhane. Following this, devotees began receiving darshan. The idol and temple were adorned with striking floral decorations. For the deity’s offering (naivedya), Rohidas Murlidhar Bidwai from Golegaon donated 2 carats of bananas.
Three maha aartis (grand worship with lamps) were performed at the temple: at 6:00 AM, 12:00 noon, and 6:00 PM. Throughout the day, various religious rituals were conducted by the Devasthan Trust. The trust also arranged several facilities for the devotees’ convenience. Due to the large crowd of devotees and tourists, crowd management was efficiently organized by the Trust to ensure smooth darshan.
Prominent members of the Trust, including President Adv. Sanjay Dhekane, Vice President Govind Meher, Secretary Shankar Tamhane, Treasurer Bhagwan Hande, Trustees Prabhakar Jadhav, Machhindra Shete, Sadashiv Tamhane, Kashinath Lokhande, Jayawant Doke, Jitendra Bidwai, Office Secretary Rohidas Bidwai, Manager Nilesh Sarje, staff members, villagers from Golegaon, and many devotees were present during the event.
In the evening, a devotional music session (bhajan) was performed by the Shri Muktai Prasadik Bhajani Mandal from Shivechiwadi. A maha aarti was performed again during moonrise. After that, Kashinath Dattatray Lokhande (Trustee from Golegaon), Shubham Ratnakant Doke (Golegaon), Sachin Popat Rasal (Narayangaon), and Ramesh Jagannath Jadhav (Bori Budruk) organized a mahaprasad (holy meal) for all devotees.
On this auspicious Sankashti Chaturthi, several dignitaries from various sectors took darshan of Shri Ganpati. A large number of devotees had come from Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, and Junnar regions.
The Shri Lenyadri Ganpati Devasthan Trust has also announced the upcoming celebration of Angaraki Chaturthi and Ganesh Mahayagya on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in the month of Shravan.
