Large crowd of devotees at Shri Kshetra Lenyadri On the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi

On the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi, a large crowd of devotees gathered at Shri Kshetra Lenyadri to seek the darshan of Lord Ganesha. On Saturday, November 8, 2025, thousands of devotees visited the Shri Girijatmaj Ganapati temple in the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage site at Lenyadri (Tal. Junnar) to offer their prayers. There was a significant crowd throughout the day, and the area around Shri Kshetra Lenyadri took on the atmosphere of a grand pilgrimage site. On this occasion, the idol of Shri Girijatmaj and the temple were beautifully decorated with flowers.

The temple trustees, led by Sadashiv Tamhane, performed the abhishekam (ritual bath) and maha puja at 5:30 AM. After the rituals, devotees were able to take darshan of the deity. The idol of Shri Girijatmaj and the temple were adorned with an attractive floral decoration in celebration of Sankashti Chaturthi. For the naivedya (offering of food), Ravindra Prabhakar Chaudhari from Nashik donated two carats of bananas. The temple performed maha aarti at 6:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 6:00 PM. Throughout the day, various religious rituals were conducted by the temple authorities.

The temple administration also provided various facilities and amenities for the devotees. There was a large crowd of both pilgrims and tourists throughout the day. To manage the crowd, the temple trust had organized crowd control measures. The temple’s president, Advocate Sanjay Dhekne, vice president Govind Meher, secretary Shankar Tamhane, treasurer Bhagwan Hande, trustees Prabhakar Jadhav, Machhindra Shete, Sadashiv Tamhane, Kashinath Lokhande, Jaywant Doke, Jitendra Bidwai, office secretary Rohidas Bidwai, manager Nilesh Sarjine, employees, and villagers from Golegaon, along with a large number of devotees, were present.

In the evening, the Muktai Prasadik Bhajani Mandal from Shivechiwadi performed devotional bhajans. At the time of chandrodya (moonrise), a grand maha aarti was held. Later, the owners of Hotel Garambi from Narayangaon, the Auti brothers, organized a maha prasada (community feast) for the devotees. Throughout the day, many prominent figures from various fields came to take darshan of Lord Ganesha. Devotees from Junnar, as well as from Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, and Nashik, also arrived in large numbers for the darshan.
