Large gathering of devotees at Shri Kshetra Lenyadri on the occasion of Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi

On Tuesday, 6 January 2026, on the occasion of Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi, thousands of devotees took darshan of Shri Girijatmaj Ganpati at the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage center Shri Kshetra Lenyadri (Taluka Junnar). As this was the first Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi of the new year 2026, and since this Chaturthi holds special religious significance, there was a very large crowd of devotees throughout the day. The entire Lenyadri area had taken on the atmosphere of a pilgrimage fair.

On this occasion, the idol of Shri Girijatmaj Ganesh and the temple were beautifully decorated with flowers. On behalf of the Shri Lenyadri Ganpati Devasthan Trust, a ritualistic abhishek and Mahapuja were performed at 5:30 a.m. by trustee Sadashiv Tamhane, after which devotees were allowed darshan.

For the offering (naivedya) to the deity, Pratik Ravindra Chaudhari from Nashik, and Sangita Sandeep Bankar and Sandeep Narayan Bankar from Bankarphata, each offered two crates of bananas as prasad. Maha-arti was performed in the temple at 6:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 6:00 p.m. Throughout the day, various religious rituals were conducted by the Devasthan Trust in observance of Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi.

The Devasthan Trust provided various facilities for the devotees. As this was the first Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi of the new year and due to its special importance, there was a heavy rush of devotees and tourists throughout the day. To ensure smooth darshan, crowd management arrangements were made by the Devasthan Trust.

Present on this occasion were Devasthan President Adv. Sanjay Dhekane, Vice President Govind Meher, Secretary Shankar Tamhane, Treasurer Bhagwan Hande, Trustees Prabhakar Jadhav, Machhindra Shete, Sadashiv Tamhane, Kashinath Lokhande, Jaywant Doke, Jitendra Bidwai, Office Secretary Rohidas Bidwai, Manager Nilesh Sarjine, staff members, villagers of Golegaon, and a large number of devotees.

In the evening, a musical bhajan program was performed by Shri Muktai Prasadik Bhajani Mandal, Shivichi Wadi. At night, during moonrise, a special Maha-arti was performed. Thereafter, Jai Ganesh Group organized Mahaprasad for the devotees.

Throughout the day, several dignitaries from various fields took darshan of Shri Girijatmaj Ganesh. A large number of devotees arrived for darshan from Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, Junnar, and surrounding areas.
