On the occasion of Maghi Shri Ganesh Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesh was celebrated with great enthusiasm and in a traditional manner on Thursday, 22 January 2026, at Shri Kshetra Lenyadri (Taluka Junnar), one of the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage sites. From early morning, a large number of devotees gathered for the darshan of Shri Girijatmaj Ganpati. A grand fair was held in and around the Lenyadri temple परिसर. The idol of Shri Girijatmaj Ganesh and the temple premises were beautifully decorated with flowers.
Between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon, H.B.P. Namdev Maharaj Walke delivered a Dev Janmache Kirtan (devotional discourse on the divine birth). On this occasion, an Akhanda Harinam Saptah (continuous devotional chanting week) has been organized by the Devasthan Trust from Friday, 16 January 2026 to Friday, 23 January 2026.
On behalf of Shri Lenyadri Ganpati Devasthan, at 6:30 am, a ritualistic abhishek and maha puja of Shri Girijatmaj Ganesh were performed by the hands of Devasthan President Adv. Sanjay Dhekane. Thereafter, thousands of devotees took darshan of Shri Girijatmaj Ganpati. Throughout the day, there was a heavy rush of devotees. The Dev Janmache Kirtan by H.B.P. Namdev Maharaj Walke was again held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, and the Ganesh Janmotsav ceremony was completed in a traditional manner. Following this, Mahaprasad was organized for devotees.
Present on the occasion were Devasthan President Adv. Sanjay Dhekane, Vice President Govind Meher, Secretary Shankar Tamhanne, Treasurer Bhagwan Hande, Trustees Prabhakar Jadhav, Machhindra Shete, Suresh Vani, Prabhakar Gadade, Sadashiv Tamhanne, Kashinath Lokhande, Vijay Varhadi, Nandkumar Bidwai, Jaywant Doke, Jitendra Bidwai, Office Secretary Rohidas Bidwai, Manager Nilesh Sarjine, along with staff members and villagers.
Maha Aarti was performed at 6:00 am, 12:00 noon, and 6:00 pm. Various religious programs were organized on the occasion of Ganesh Jayanti. The Devasthan Trust provided multiple services to the visiting devotees. Crowd management arrangements were made by the Devasthan to ensure smooth and easy darshan for devotees.
For the Lord’s naivedya, Ram Maruti Kokane from Golegaon donated various fruits, Dhananjay Khandu Bidwai donated one crate of bananas, and Srushti Ramesh Masal from Rashin donated two crates of bananas. Throughout the day, dignitaries from various fields visited for darshan. Devotees came in large numbers from the Junnar region as well as from Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, and Nashik.
On the occasion of Shri Ganesh Jayanti, the Akhanda Harinam Saptah organized by the Devasthan from 16 January to 23 January 2026 will conclude on Friday, 23 January 2026, with the Kalya Kirtan by H.B.P. Shravan Maharaj Ahire.
