Large turnout of devotees at Shri Kshetra Lenyadri on the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi

On Thursday, 5 February 2026, on the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi, thousands of devotees took darshan of Shri Girijatmaj Ganpati at the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage site, Shri Kshetra Lenyadri (Taluka Junnar). There was a heavy rush of devotees throughout the day, and the Lenyadri परिसर took on the atmosphere of a fair. On this occasion, the idol of Shri Girijatmaj and the temple were beautifully decorated with flowers.

On behalf of the Shri Lenyadri Ganpati Devasthan Trust, Abhishek and Mahapuja were performed at 6:15 a.m. at the hands of Devasthan President Adv. Sanjay Dhekane and Trustee Sadashiv Tamhane. After this, devotees availed themselves of darshan. For Sankashti Chaturthi, attractive floral decorations were done on the idol of Shri Girijatmaj Ganesh as well as in the temple परिसर. For the deity’s naivedya, Santosh Bhausaheb Shinde from Ranjangaon offered a prasad of two crates of bananas.

Mahaarati was performed in the temple at 6:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 6:00 p.m. On the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi, various religious rituals were conducted throughout the day by the Devasthan Trust. Devotees were provided with various facilities through the Trust. There was a large crowd of devotees and tourists throughout the day. To ensure smooth darshan for devotees, crowd management was arranged by the Devasthan Trust.

On this occasion, Devasthan President Adv. Sanjay Dhekane, Vice President Govind Meher, Secretary Shankar Tamhane, Treasurer Bhagwan Hande, Trustees Prabhakar Jadhav, Machhindra Shete, Sadashiv Tamhane, Kashinath Lokhande, Jaywant Doke, Kailas Lokhande, Jitendra Bidwai, Office Secretary Rohidas Bidwai, Manager Nilesh Sarjine, staff members, villagers, and a large number of devotees were present.

In the evening, a musical bhajan was performed by Shri Muktai Prasadic Bhajani Mandal from Shivechiwadi. At the time of moonrise at night, Mahaarati of the deity was performed. After that, Mahaprasad for devotees was organized by Mangesh Jaywant Doke from Golegaon and Pandharinath Shivram Dhondkar from Junnar.

On the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi, dignitaries from various fields took darshan of the deity throughout the day. A large number of devotees also came for darshan from the Junnar area as well as from Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, and Nashik. This information was given by Devasthan President Adv.
