On Wednesday, 27th August 2025, on the occasion of Bhadrapad Shri Ganesh Chaturthi, a large crowd of devotees gathered from early morning at the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage site, Shri Kshetra Lenyadri (Taluka Junnar) for the darshan of Shri Girijatmaj. To mark the auspicious day, the Devasthan Trust organized various religious programs, giving the entire Lenyadri area the atmosphere of a pilgrimage fair. Throughout the day, countless devotees had the blessing of darshan of Shri Girijatmaj Ganesh.
At 5:30 AM, the Mahabhishek and Mahapuja of Shri were performed by the temple president Adv. Sanjay Dhekne and trustee Jitendra Bidwai on behalf of the Lenyadri Ganpati Devasthan Trust, after which devotees continued to take darshan. From 10 AM to 12 noon, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, H.B.P. Namdev Maharaj Valke delivered a kirtan narrating the divine birth of the Lord. Later, the traditional celebration of Shri Ganesh’s birth anniversary was performed. Following this, Maha Prasad was arranged for devotees by Laxman Gajanan Jadhav from Manikdoh.
On this occasion, the idol of Shri Girijatmaj Ganesh and the temple premises were beautifully decorated with flowers. For the Lord’s naivedya, fruit merchant Ram Maruti Kokane from Mumbai offered a variety of fruits, Sadashiv Shankar Tamhanhe from Golegaon donated a 1-carat guava, and Bhagwan Nana Hande donated a 2-carat banana. Maha Aarti was performed at 6 AM, 12:15 PM, and 6 PM in the temple. Various religious rituals were carried out throughout the day, and services were provided to devotees by the Devasthan Trust.
Present on the occasion were President Adv. Sanjay Dhekne, Vice President Govind Meher, Secretary Shankar Tamhanhe, Treasurer Bhagwan Hande, Trustees Prabhakar Jadhav, Machhindra Shete, Sadashiv Tamhanhe, Kashinath Lokhande, Jaywant Doke, Jitendra Bidwai, Office Secretary Rohidas Bidwai, Manager Nilesh Sarjine, along with temple staff, a large number of devotees, and local villagers. To facilitate smooth darshan, crowd management was undertaken by the Devasthan Trust.
Throughout the day, dignitaries from various fields also visited for darshan. Devotees arrived in large numbers not only from Junnar but also from Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, and Nashik.
On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, a special program of Shri Ganesh Atharvashirsha Pathan for women devotees will be held on Thursday, 28th August 2025, from 8 AM to 9 AM. This information was provided by Adv. Sanjay Dhekne and Secretary Shankar Tamhanhe of the Devasthan.
