Large Devotee Turnout at Shri Kshetra Lenyadri on Sankashti Chaturthi
On Friday, July 3, 2026, thousands of devotees visited Shri Girijatmaj Ganpati at the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage site of Shri Kshetra Lenyadri in Junnar Taluka on the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi. The temple witnessed a heavy influx of devotees throughout the day, and the entire Lenyadri area took on the atmosphere of a grand religious fair. The idol of Lord Girijatmaj and the temple were beautifully decorated with flowers for the occasion.
The day’s rituals began at 6:15 a.m. with the Abhishek and Mahapuja performed by Advocate Sanjay Dhekane, President of the Shri Lenyadri Ganpati Devasthan Trust; Trustee Sadashiv Tamhane; Hanumant Anant Kad, Director of the Khed Agricultural Produce Market Committee; and his wife, Nandatai Hanumant Kad. After the rituals, devotees were allowed to have darshan.
The temple and the idol of Shri Girijatmaj were adorned with attractive floral decorations. Shailesh Dave of Daund offered two crates of bananas as prasad for the Lord’s naivedya. Maha Aarti was performed at 7:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 7:00 p.m. Various religious ceremonies were conducted throughout the day by the Devasthan Trust.
The Trust also provided various facilities and services for devotees. Due to the large number of devotees and tourists, special crowd management arrangements were made to ensure smooth and orderly darshan.
Present on the occasion were Trust President Advocate Sanjay Dhekane, Vice President Govind Meher, Secretary Shankar Tamhane, Treasurer Bhagwan Hande, Trustees Machhindra Shete, Sadashiv Tamhane, Kashinath Lokhande, Jaywant Doke, Jitendra Bidwai, Office Secretary Rohidas Bidwai, Manager Nilesh Sarjine, temple staff, local villagers, and a large number of devotees.
In the evening, the Shri Muktai Prasadic Bhajani Mandal from Shivechiwadi presented a devotional musical bhajan. A Maha Aarti was performed again at moonrise. Afterwards, Mahaprasad was organized for devotees by Amit Shankar Chavare of Junnar.
Throughout the day, several dignitaries from different fields visited the temple to seek the blessings of Lord Girijatmaj. Devotees had come in large numbers from Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, and the Junnar region.
